K9s for Combat Kids

The mission of K9s for Combat Kids is to provide mental health support for military and first responder children. According to the Jason Foundation "more teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED. Each day in our nation, there are an average of over 3,703 attempts by young people grades 9-12" (2022). Suicide is the second leading cause of death in youth.

We use the world's best suicide prevention strategies found within the military community and combine them to help children in need. The healing power of K9 companionship partnered with outdoor recreational therapy tackles some of the toughest mental health challenges.

With nearly 80% of military and first responder children following in their parents' footsteps, it is our duty and responsibility to protect and prepare them to become America's future defenders.

This program partners hunting pups with military and first responder children and teaches them to safely work together to find and recover wild game for healthy eating. Check out the video below for more information.
